Questions and answers

Straight answers to the things club treasurers ask before they try Tiny Treasurer.

What is Tiny Treasurer?

Tiny Treasurer is friendly Windows software for the volunteer treasurer of a small club, society or charity. It keeps your members, subs, income and expenses in one place, produces your Gift Aid figures, and prints a tidy statement for the AGM - no accountancy know-how needed.

It runs on your own PC and your club's books stay there. Tiny Treasurer is made by Azury Digital & Tech Solutions Ltd, a UK company, and is launching soon.

Who is Tiny Treasurer for?

The volunteers who keep the books for small UK clubs, societies and charities: allotment societies, sports and social clubs, churches, PTAs, scout and guide groups, residents' associations and groups like them.

It is made for the person, not the accountant. If you have been handed the club's money to look after, it is for you.

How much does Tiny Treasurer cost?

£125 a year for your whole club. That covers members, subs, income and expenses, the Gift Aid figures and the year-end AGM statement, use on up to two of your own devices, and free updates and friendly support while your licence is active. There are no monthly fees. When it launches there will be a 14-day free trial, so you can try it before you buy.

Prices are in pounds sterling and, as Azury Digital is not currently VAT registered, no VAT is added. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Our terms cover payment and renewal.

Do I need to know accounting to use it?

No. Tiny Treasurer is built for volunteers, not accountants. If you can fill in a form, you can keep the books: plain words throughout, no accountancy training needed, and the software does the sums for you.

What does Tiny Treasurer actually do?

The handful of things a club treasurer actually does, made quick. Keep your membership list in one place, with membership types, contact details and renewal dates, and see at a glance who has paid their subs and who needs a nudge. Record subs, donations, event takings and grants in seconds, each filed against a category and, where it fits, the member behind it, with a running balance that updates the moment you save. Log the club's spending under categories you choose, so nothing slips through the cracks.

At year end, one click turns the year into a clean income and expenditure statement - totals in, totals out and the balance carried forward - ready to print, export or lay before the AGM. The Features page walks through each screen.

Does Tiny Treasurer help with Gift Aid?

Yes. Flag a donation as Gift Aid eligible as you enter it and Tiny Treasurer keeps the running tally. When you are ready to claim from HMRC, it gathers the figures for you - donor, date and amount - and shows what you can reclaim, so you are not unpicking a whole year of entries the night before the deadline.

Is my club's data stored online?

No. Everything you enter - members, subscriptions, income, expenses, Gift Aid figures and statements - is saved as a file on your own Windows PC. It is never uploaded to us or to any cloud, there is no online account holding it, and there are no ads. The only thing that ever talks to our server is the licence check, which carries your licence key and a device identifier - never your club's data.

Because there is no cloud copy, taking your own backups is down to you, just as it would be for any important document, and we strongly recommend doing so regularly. Our Security and Privacy pages explain the approach in full.

Do I need to be online to use it?

Not day to day. You activate once when you set up, and after that Tiny Treasurer runs offline. It checks in with us quietly now and then to keep your licence valid, and can go about six weeks between check-ins. If it cannot reach us for longer than that, it switches to read-only - you can still open and export everything - until it next gets online. Fine for the village hall with patchy Wi-Fi.

What happens if my licence runs out?

You are never locked out of your own records. If your annual licence expires or is not renewed, Tiny Treasurer switches to read-only: you can still open, view, print and export everything you have entered. Renew whenever you like to start adding and editing entries again.

If you opt for automatic renewal, the licence renews each year until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time to stop future renewals.

Can I use it on more than one computer?

Yes. Your licence covers up to two of your own devices. If you get a new PC, release a device from your account and move Tiny Treasurer across.

How do I hand over to the next treasurer?

Pass them the club's file. Because your club's books live in a file on your PC rather than in an online account, next year's treasurer picks up exactly where you left off, with a tidy set of books and the year-end statement to start from.

What do I need to run Tiny Treasurer?

A PC running Windows 10 or Windows 11, plus an internet connection for the one-off activation and the occasional licence check. It is a quick download onto your Windows PC - no setup wizardry. If your club uses something other than Windows, email support@tinytreasurer.com and ask.

How do I get started?

Tiny Treasurer is launching soon. Register your interest by emailing support@tinytreasurer.com and we will email you the moment it is ready, with a 14-day free trial so you can try it first.

From there it is three steps: download and install, add your club and its members, and record money in and out through the year - then print the statement when the AGM comes round.

How do I get help?

Friendly support is included with your licence. Email support@tinytreasurer.com and we will help. For anything about your personal data or privacy, you can also reach us at info@azurydigital.co.uk.
